How can a unity formula be interpreted?

Unit 5 Topic 1
The Unity Formula

The unity formula for a glaze is interpreted in terms of the proportions of various oxides it contains and their potential to influence the fired quality fo the glaze.

When a fired glaze is chemically analysed it is found to contain oxides in various quantities.

The quality of the fired glaze is determined, in part, by the oxides which are present, their quantities and their proportional relationships with one another.
