Matrix has a number of types of Limits Graph windows. Each graph is designed to display all or part of the unity formula for a recipe or blend on screen. The formula for the recipe is plotted against a set of limit values determined by the current temperature setting in Matrix.

This Limits graph window is opened by clicking the button on the tool bar.

The graph displays bars indicating the upper and lower limits for each oxide for Cone 10 firings.

The oxide values for the unity formula of the currently loaded recipe are indicated by the small yellow rectangles.

The Load New Limits File item in the Action menu can be used to change the set of limits displayed.

The graph displays a blue rectangle indicating the upper and lower limits for Al2O3 and SiO2 for Cone 10 firings.

The Al2O3 and SiO2 values for the unity formula of the currently loaded recipe are indicated by the small yellow rectangle.

This Limits graph window is opened by clicking the button in the Blends environment after the creation of a blend.

The graph displays bars indicating the upper and lower limits for each oxide for Cone 10 firings.

The oxide values for the unity formula of all the recipes created in the blend are indicated by small yellow rectangles. The red rectangle plot the corner recipes for the blend

Selecting a New Set of Limits Data for the Limits Graphs

The currently loaded limits file may be changed to access a different set of limits data by selecting the Load New Limits File item in the Action menu.

This displays list of the Limit Files on disc. When you scroll through this list with the Page Up / Down keys or click on the list with the mouse, the Limits Graph bars and the rectangle in the Al / Si Graph change to reflect the new set of limits.

This facility is very useful when you wish comparing the displayed formula against the various limits tables commonly used.

In some cases limit tables only contain data for certain cone / temperatures. For example the Cushing limits are available only for cone 04, cones 5-6 and for cones 9-10 and have been generated specifically for glossy, satin and Matt surfaces.
