Using Unity Formula

Limit formulae provide a basis for assessing the behaviour of a particular glaze if fired to a target cone / temperature.

If the recipe for a glaze is converted into a unity formula that formula may be compared with the limit formula for the firing range of the glaze.

Such comparisons can reveal problems arising from excessive or insufficient levels of particular oxides.

Matrix provides graphic displays for such comparisons plotting the recipe being examined on graphs showing the limit formula for the preset firing range.

The unity formula for Nicki's Blue Celedon is shown on the right.
